I agree with everything you said. Commenting on other blogs will bring in more eyeballs. I have a small blog that I’ve just recently started but it’s growing.

I like creating new, unique hashtags for Instagram and get a decent amount of people from them. I also make sure my photos look appealing and that my article titles will make people curious to click the link.

Getting the best possible photos doesn’t seem that important at first but it is. I say this as I have a friend who owns a blog that has a decent amount of visitors. He told me that he wasn’t putting much effort into his images but then he started researching and reading around and read a forum post about the importance this has and tried it.

He said he now has more visitors, people stay on his site longer and usually read at least 2 pages before exiting. And all he changed was the quality of his images.

Too many people/businesses run their blogs haphazardly. I largely agree on many of the tips you have made but I would have to say that the one that jumps out to me the most is you encouraging them to use high quality photos. When you take the time to research, write and publish a legitimate post it seems almost neglectful not to accompany it with a great picture, or two, or three. Making the reader experience better after putting all that work into something will only benefit you. And them too. But mostly you. lol

Thanks for sharing! Facebook and Words With Friends are the only two apps I have experience with out of your list, so I’ll definitely have to check out the others you mentioned very soon. When it comes to my favorite app I’d probably have to give the title to DISH Remote Access. That app works with the Sling Adapter one of the gals I work with at DISH got me allowing me to watch all of my favorite shows from home, live or from off my DVR, everywhere I go in the world. It’s not only nice when trying to kill some time on the go, but it’s also nice to have when I know a show of mine is airing and I’m half way across the country on business! :)

I suppose estimates are better than nothing, even though estimates tend to vary depending on the tool. A good calibration of estimation tools is to compare against your own site's traffic metrics from Google Analytics.
